Meet 
Marcia A. Futel

Chief Impact Officer

A native of Chicago, Marcia was educated in the Chicago Public School system and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign). After college, she relocated to Cincinnati and had a successful 23-year career in Information Technology. During this time, she also obtained Masters’ Certificate in project management from George Washington University. Marcia now works with her husband Chuck in their financial services business where they educate and empower people to effectively manage their money and create wealth for themselves and their families. She is licensed with the State of Ohio in Life Insurance & Annuities and teaches the pre-licensing course required by the state of Ohio for aspiring new agents. Marcia is a Registered Representative with PFS Investments, Inc. and a Registered Advisor with Primerica Advisors.

 

Marcia is a dedicated education advocate and champion of academic success for all students with a track record of service at the local, state, and national level. She has served on Cincinnati Public School CPS) District Budget commission, Family and Community Engagement (FACET), and the Strategic Engagement and Planning (StEP) committees and has several years of Local School Decision Making Committee (LSDMC) experience. She also served on the Ohio State Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council.  Marcia is a member of the national board of Parents for Public Schools, after serving in the local chapter for many years as a board member, president, and leadership trainer for their parent professional development programs. She also serves on the Education Committees of the League of Women Voters – Greater Cincinnati and the Cincinnati NAACP. 

 

A teacher in her own right, Marcia has served as a tutor in CPS schools and has taught classes and facilitated seminars on leadership and personal growth in a variety of venues throughout the city. She currently expresses her passion for teaching at Christ Emmanuel Christian Fellowship as a member of the Identity and Purpose Teaching Ministry.

 

In 2020, Marcia founded Connecting For Impact, a community empowerment organization whose goal is to inspire an advocacy movement among young people that "connect the dots" between access to high quality education, representative government, and economic stability and growth to transform communities and leave a prosperous generational legacy. 

 

Marcia is a Ruby and Life Member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She is a charter and active member of Epsilon Lambda Sigma Chapter (Cincinnati, OH). She is a graduate of the Urban League of Greater Southwest Ohio African American Leadership Development Program (AALDP) Class VIII and of School Board School Class 2.

 

Marcia and her husband, Chuck, have 3 children:  Gayla, a Network Engineer residing in Washington, D.C.; Keith, a Social Studies Teacher in the Greater Cincinnati area; and Desirae, a local hair stylist and salon owner. She is also the proud “Grammy” of Natasha, Gerald III, Kamara, and Gizelle.
