OUR
STORY

“Connecting for Impact” was birthed through our Chief Impact Officer’s participation in “School Board School,” a 6-month program created to equip individuals interested in serving as School Board members and who want to deepen their education advocacy work.

Participants are expected to develop a “vision impact statement” based on the lessons, personal passion, and desired position of service. Marcia’s desire to "connect the dots" between access to high quality education, representative government, economic stability, and growth through business ownership to transform communities and leave a prosperous generational legacy.

“Connecting For Impact” combines our desire for young people to be contributing citizens, leaders, business owners and to see entrepreneurship as a viable path to their goals and dreams.

Furthermore, we believe that the resistance to voting is not due to apathy a but lack of knowledge. If we ensure that our communities understand the basics associated with how our government works on all levels, the qualities they should look for in honest  and humble public servants and their scope of power, we will increase voter participation.

By increasing our voter power, we increase our influence on public policy. Increased influence on public policy begins to address community concerns: inequitable public education, joblessness, lack of inadequate health care, food deserts, and unaffordable housing.

The starting line for “Connecting for Impact” is civic engagement and empowerment. The goal of “My Vote Does Matter” is to equip participants to exercise their rights and use their power to change the economic trajectory of their families. We will teach and inspire them to fully participate in the democratic process by voting in EVERY election in the best way that represents their best interests and values.
